Hegels Lehre vom Begriff setzt Kants Lehre der transzendentalen Einheit der Apperzeption fort, sie führt deren nicht vorhandene Momente aus und legt eine spekulative Alternative zu ihr dar. Diese drei Seiten bilden in ihrer Einheit Hegels kritisches Verhältnis zu Kant. Auf der spekulativen Fassung des „ich denke” -Gedankens als des Begriffs stützen sich alle weiteren Kritiken in der Wissenschaft der Logik. Wenn Hegels Aufhebung aber nicht gelingt, bleibt das idealistische Problem, was Reinheit des Denken zu bedeuten hat.

Summary In this paper I inquire by way of a phenomenological description whether the experience of an encounter with one's own mortality could not so transform a person's ethos that the virtues of justice, compassion and neighborly love could ensue. I will concentrate on such an encounter in and through the mood of dread. This paper, in opposition to Heidegger, is only concerned with it's effect regarding our ethical comportment. I claim that the mood of dread not only destroys the (...) mood of indifference, but also sends him on a pathway of self‐transforming moods. As to the “understanding” accompanying moods in the field of ethical comportment I try to show that it has the character of a direct non‐ratiocinative insight.RésuméJe voudrais dans cet article examiner, à l'aide d'une description phénoménologique, si l'expérience que constitue la rencontre avec la perspective de sa propre mort ne peut pas transformer l'éthique d'un homme de telle manière que les vertus de justice, de pitié et de reconnaissance de la dignité humaine puissent s'y développer. Je me limite ici à une telle rencontre avec un sentiment d'horreur. Cet article n'aborde — contrairement à la manière dont Heidegger conçoit l'angoisse — que l'effet sur le comportement éthique. Je suis d'avis que le sentiment d'horreur non seulement détruit celui d'indifférence, mais dispose l'homme à vouloir se changer lui‐me̊me. Quant à la »compréhension« des sentiments accompagnant le comportement éthique, je montre qu'elle a le caractère d'une intuition immédiate et non rationnelle.ZusammenfassungIn diesem Aufsatz möchte ich auf dem Wege einer phänomenologischen Beschreibung untersuchen, ob die Erfahrung einer Begegnung mit der eigenen Sterblichkeit das Ethos eines Menschen nicht so verwandeln kann, dass sich die Tugenden von Gerechtigkeit, Mitleid und mitmenschlicher Anerkennung entwickeln können. Ich beschränke mich dabei auf eine solche Begegnung in der und durch die Gestimmtheit des Entsetzens. Dieser Aufsatz erörtert — im Gegensatz zu Heideggers Auffassung der Angst — nur die Wirkung auf unser ethisches Verhalten. Ich bin der Auffassung, dass die Gestimmtheit des Entsetzens nicht nur die Stimmung der Gleichgültigkeit zerstört, sondern den Menschen auch auf einen Weg der selbstverändernden Gestimmtheiten sendet. Was das »Verstehen« begleitender Stimmungen im Bereich des ethischen Verhaltens betrifft, so versuche ich zu zeigen, dass dies den Charakter eines unmittelbaren, nicht‐rationalen Einsehens hat. V nasledujúcom príspevku sa snažíme zdôvodniť vyčlenenie troch typov procesov v pozorovanom vesmíre - procesov slabo, stredne a silne usmernených, a to na základe rôznej miery autonómnosti ich štruktúrnych prvkov a rôznej miery či intenzity zákonov, ktorými sú usmerňované alebo riadené. Individuálne a konkrétne procesy sú tak v podstate totožné s individuálnymi a konkrétnymi systémami, cez ktoré, v ktorých a prostredníctvom ktorých sa úplne realizujú, disponujúc tak vždy a všade vlastným substanciálnym obsahom. Na tomto základe potom vyčleňujeme slabo usmernené procesy (...) v neživej prírode s málo vyčlenenými alebo autonómnymi štruktúrnymi prvkami, stredne usmernené procesy živej prírody s oveľa väčšími, vyčlenenejšími a autonómnejšími štruktúrnymi prvkami vo forme živých buniek a postupne rastúcich a zdokonaľujúcich sa organizmov a tried organizmov a nakoniec silne usmernené procesy tzv. sociálnej prírody alebo ľudskej spoločnosti, pozostávajúcej z ľudí ako svojich základných alebo štruktúrnych prvkov a tiež z nimi generovaného technického a/lebo civilizačného "obalu", ktoré sú podobne ako živé procesy a systémy usmerňované a riadené čoraz väčším počtom pre nich špecifických vedeckých zákonov, princípov alebo "pravidiel". Príspevok rieši definičný rámec pojmov inštitúcia a organizácia v optike filozofických a etických nástrojov štúdia vývinových špecifík teórie a praxe axiologických systémov. Hlavným cieľom je teoretické určenie týchto pojmov v záujme ich korektnej aplikácie v oblasti filozofie a etiky, kde často dochádza k ich zámene, alebo stotožňovaniu. Inštitúciu chápe ako etický, a teda aj praktický fundament existencie človeka ako indivídua, ale aj celej spoločnosti, s dôrazom na jej axiologické vymedzenie, ktoré je jej podstatou. V historickom kontinuu si všíma metamorfózy hodnotových, (...) a inštitucionálnych základov fungovania západnej civilizácie, cez jej dominantné dejinno-axiologické systémy: Staroveké Grécko, kresťanstvo a moderné politické ideológie v logike vzájomnej komparácie. W artykule autor ustosunkowuje się do dwóch sposobów interpretacji filozofii Marksa prezentowanych przez M. Henry w pracach "Une philosophie de la réalité" i "Une philosophie de l'eсопоmie" oraz książkach L. Althussera "Lire le Capital" i "Pour Marx". Na wstępie autor zastanawia się czy filozofia Marksa stanowi zdecydowane zerwanie z niemiecką tradycją filozoficzną, czy też stanowi jej kontynuację. Przypominając stanowisko L.Althussera autor zauważa, że odczytanie spuścizny Marksa w duchu scjentystycznym, w świetle którego materializm jest tylko odrzuceniem heglowskiego idealizmu, sprawia, że (...) unieważnia się w ten sposób ładunek humanistyczny tkwiący w sferze ideologicznej tej filozofii. Innym problemem poruszanym przez autora jest stosunek funkcji teoretycznych marksizmu do jego zadań praktycznych. Jego zdaniem teksty polityczne Marksa nie interpretują się same, lecz konieczne jest odniesienie ich do "Ideologii niemieckiej", gdzie tkwią założenia metahistoryczne nadające dopiero sens historii wydarzeniowej. Następnie autor omawia kluczowe momenty analizy M. Henry: problem materializmu historycznego i realności faktów ekonomicznych. Jest zdania, że kategoria praktyki, różnicująca w sposób zdecydowany filozofię Marksa wobec Hegla i Feuerbacha, pozwala przezwyciężyć rozziew pomiędzy opisywaną przez materializm historyczny bazą ekonomiczną a jednostką wraz z całą jej sferą subiektywności. Następnie autor udowadnia, że w "Kapitale" Marks nie redukuje człowieka do anonimowych stosunków ekonomicznych, ale kapitalistyczne prawa ekonomii interpretuje poprzez kategorie pracy wyalienowanej, której nie można wyjaśnić na gruncie faktów ekonomicznych. Artykuł kończy się tezą, że kategoria praktyki umożliwia uniknięcie dwóch skrajności w interpretacji Marksa: takiej, gdzie podmiot rozpływa się w faktach obiektywnych i innej, gdzie subiektywność podmiotowa nie pozwala dotrzeć do rzeczywistości realnej. "Nicht nur der Historische Materialismus ist uns insgeheim in Fleisch und Blut übergegangen, wie ich bereits behauptet habe. Wir sind durchaus auch latente Anhänger der guten alten Theorie vom Klassenkampf..." Mit diesem Buch liegt eine beachtenswerte Neuinterpretation zentraler Teile des Marxismus - der Marx'schen Geschichts- und Gesellschaftstheorie - vor. In einem ersten Schritt lässt Iorio Widersprüche und Mehrdeutigkeiten im Denken von Marx sichtbar werden. Es gelingt dem Autor jedoch, diese Widersprüche im Rahmen einer einheitlichen Theorie der Gesellschaft und (...) des gesellschaftlichen Wandels zu überwinden, die vor allem darum bemüht ist, eine tief greifende Spannung zwischen dem Historischen Materialismus und dem marxistischen Konzept des Klassenkampfes aufzulösen. Diese Auflösung zeigt, wie die über-individualistisch strukturalistischen Aspekte des Historischen Materialismus mit Marxens Überzeugung zu versöhnen sind, dass menschliche Individuen Gesellschaften konstituieren und selbst ihre Geschichte machen. Štúdia si kladie za cieľ interpretovať pojmy ako udalosť, advenant, ex-per-iancia, rekonfigurácia a ničota a poukázať na ich súvislosť s umením. Pracovná téza je: Advenant býva umelecky. Cieľom štúdie tak nie je len analýza a pred-stavenie Romanovho diela, ale aj vyzdvihnutie tendencií smerujúcich k chápaniu udalosti a advenanta v umeleckých kontúrach. Štúdia preto analyzuje (...) autorov kontext, ktorý tvorí fenomenologická hermeneutika, predovšetkým diela Martina Heideggera a Henriho Maldineya. V súvislosti s rekonfiguratívnym aspektom advenantovho bytia sa v štúdii stáva ústredným konceptom pojem figúry, z ktorého následne vyplýva problém herectva. (shrink)

In dieser Arbeit möchte ich versuchen, zunächst die Position von Li Zehou aus der Perspektivevon Kants Philosophie zu erläutern und dann auf dieser Grundlage zu analysieren, weshalb die marxistischen Gelehrten normalerweise zur Kritik dieser Position neigen. Während Kant glaubt, dass die politische Revolution nicht die Reform der Denkungsart des Menschen fördern kann, neigt Marx eher zu der Ansicht, dass die Aufklärung des Menschen im Sinne der Selbstverwirklichung unmöglich ist, wenn nicht zuvor die sozialen Verhältnisse oder die sozialen Strukturen, in (...) denendie Menschen leben, durch Revolution verändert worden sind. Der Wahn untergräbt den westlichen Begriff des Souveräns wie er Israel als Widersacher des ewigen Friedens der Völker attackiert. Wenn dagegen der Judenstaat das Leben derer verteidigt, die unausgesetzt der antisemitische Haß bedroht, verteidigt er zugleich jenen Begriff. Es bleibt das Staunen, mit welcher Bestimmtheit die Erkenntnisse von Hobbes, Marx und Freud die Denunziation des Wahns explizieren können, die Israels Defense Forces täglich in die Praxis umsetzen müssen. Ihm verdankt sich dieses Buch.

This article explores nation building as an organizational accomplishment and uses the concept of boundary object to explain how the groups that compose the nation cooperate. Specifically, the article examines the mechanisms devised to secure a flow of money from the Irish-American and Jewish-American diasporas to their respective homelands. To overcome problems associated with conventional philanthropy, Irish and Jewish nationalists issued bonds and sold them to their American compatriots as a hybrid of a gift and an investment. In the Irish (...) case, disagreements about the entitlement to the proceeds resulted in the termination of the bond project. In the Jewish case, the bond served as a boundary object allowing American and Israeli Jews to cooperate despite ongoing tensions. The Israeli bond provided Jewish-Americans with an additional way to invest themselves financially and emotionally in Israel. This bond is an example of a socio-technical mechanism used to create national attachments. (shrink)

Next SectionEvidence based medicine is rightly at the core of current medicine. If patients and society put trust in medical professional competency, and on the basis of that competency delegate all kinds of responsibilities to the medical profession, medical professionals had better make sure their competency is state of the art medical science. What goes for the ethics of clinical trials goes for the ethics of medicine as a whole: anything that is scientifically doubtful is, other things being equal, ethically (...) unacceptable. This particularly applies to so called orphaned fields of medicine, those areas where medical research is weak and diverse, where financial incentives are lacking, and where the evidence regarding the aetiology and treatment of disease is much less clear than in laboratory and hospital based medicine. Examples of such orphaned fields are physiotherapy, psychotherapy, medical psychology, and occupational health, which investigate complex syndromes such as RSI, whiplash, chronic low back pain, and chronic fatigue syndrome. It appears that the primary ethical problem in this context is the lack of attention to the orphaned fields. Although we agree that this issue deserves more attention as a matter of potential injustice, we want to argue that, in order to do justice to the interplay of heterogeneous factors that is so typical of the orphaned fields, other ethical models than justice are required. We propose the coordination model as a window through which to view the important ethical issues which relate to the communication and interaction of scientists, health care workers, and patients. This book argues that Protestant theological ethics not only reveals basic virtue ethical characteristics, but also contributes significantly to a viable contemporary virtue ethics. Pieter Vos demonstrates that post-Reformation theological ethics still understands the good in terms of the good life, takes virtues as necessary for living the good life and considers human nature as a source of moral knowledge. Vos approaches Protestant theology as an important bridge between pre-modern virtue ethics, shaped by Aristotle and transformed by Augustine of Hippo, (...) and late modern understandings of morality. The volume covers a range of topics, going from eudaimonism and Calvinist ethics to Reformed scholastic virtue ethics and character formation in the work of Søren Kierkegaard. The author shows how Protestantism has articulated other-centered virtues from a theology of grace, affirmed ordinary life and emphasized the need of transformation of this life and its orders.
